BlackBerry ist mit der Firma Punkt. einen weiteren Lizenzvertrag eingegangen.
Punkt. hat ihren Sitz in der Schweiz und wurde 2008 von Petter Neby gegründet. Seine Idee war, frischen Wind auf den Elektronikmarkt zu bringen, und zwar durch die Herstellung ausgezeichneter, zeitlos-attraktiver und zweckmäßiger Produkte, die den Nutzer beim Gebrauch weder ablenken noch allzu viel Mühe abverlangen.
Von Anfang an war der bekannte britische Designer Jasper Morrison als Art Director für die Gestaltung der Produkte verantwortlich.
Als Firmenname wurde das deutsche Wort „Punkt“ ausgewählt, um zu zeigen, dass das Produkt für Einfachheit, Klarheit und Zweckmäßigkeit steht.
Mit der neuen Vereinbarung werden zukünftig einige Punkt. Produkte unter dem BlackBerry Secure Label vermarktet und Software und Anwendungen von BlackBerry verwenden.

WATERLOO, Ontario, March 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BlackBerry Limited (NYSE:BB) (TSX:BB) today announced it has signed a technology and brand licensing deal for “BlackBerry Secure” with Swiss consumer electronics maker, Punkt Tronics AG. The new agreement enables Punkt to bring to market a range of highly-secure products which will embed BlackBerry cybersecurity technology, be certified as BlackBerry Secure, and be shipped ready to safely and securely connect to home and enterprise networks.

Viel ist über dieses Device nicht bekannt. Lediglich ein rahmenloses Display, die Ausrichtung an das Premium-Segment und der Vertrieb durch den Lizenzpartner Optiemus, der das BlackBerry Ghost in Indien auf den Markt bringen soll, wird erwähnt.
